In 2018, I bought my first DSLR camera and started taking pictures of birds and wildlife. Never could I have predicted how that purchase would change my life. Every day, I find myself amazed at the birds and animals that live in our cities, right beside us, in the trees, in our parks. How could I have not noticed them before?
Much of my free time is spent in nature, on trails, in parks, looking for birds and animals that have created homes in greenspaces all across Ontario. I spend hours watching as they prepare for migration, breeding and hibernation and I’m learning to understand their actions, recognize their intelligence, and respect their instincts to survive and their curiosity about humans. In turn, many have given me their time, their presence and so many photographs and experiences that I am happy to share.
